These kimonos are one of a kind; crafted from recycled sari fabric and then completed with a kantha stitch. The Sari fabric is light weight and perfect for any season, the heat of summer included! According to Rahab's Rope "Kantha is an ancient form of hand-stitch embroidery originating in India. Rural women used the simple running embroidery stitch to hold recycled cloth layers together using threads from old saris and stitching techniques passed down from mother to daughter. Handcrafted in Rajasthan, India, the land of maharajas, medieval forts, and palaces. The intensity and spectrum of color and design is impossible to ignore. Our artisan partner has been a Fair-Trade member for over 30 years."

Story of the brand: According to Rahab's Rope "Rahab’s Rope exists to empower women and children in the fight against human trafficking. Profits from product sales fund the mission. Rahab’s Rope is a place that provides food, shelter, and protection; a place of education and training; and a place where the whole person is ministered to spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and financially. It is a place of hope, a place of transformed lives. Ultimately, we exist to end human trafficking and restore hope, purpose, and dignity to the lives of women and children in India. Since our founding in 2004, our immediate and most all-encompassing focus has been on the victims of sex trafficking by providing aftercare housing. Over the years, we have added a prevention program for children and teenage girls as well as direct intervention in red light areas. These projects have different objectives but are all in line with our vision and mission and the desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world."
